The DEVICES project is happy to announce the publication of Deliverable D4.1: Benchmarking Report on Best Practices in Career Management Skills (CMS) Teaching and Learning, a key milestone within Work Package 4 dedicated to the design of innovative e-learning solutions supporting students’ employability and lifelong learning. The report was coordinated by STEPS with contributions from all project partners.
The document explores contemporary approaches to Career Management Skills, combining an extensive literature review with a benchmarking analysis of innovative practices from Europe and beyond. It examines national CMS frameworks, university employability programmes, digital learning platforms, experiential learning initiatives, and labour market intelligence systems that support learners in developing the skills needed to navigate increasingly complex educational and professional pathways.
Particular attention is given to identifying transferable practices relevant to higher education institutions in Vietnam and Cambodia. The analysis highlights key dimensions of Career Management Skills, including self-awareness, opportunity awareness, decision-making and career planning, transition management, and adaptability for lifelong learning. The report also emphasizes the importance of learner-centred, competence-oriented, reflective, and technology-enhanced approaches to career development.
